Martinique

Fort de France, Martinique, France: I did not feel like this was an Island, rather a big city. Martinique is the biggest Island in Caribbean. Stores display fashionable clothes and shoes. People are dressed well. Walking is pleasant. No hassles to tourists. Surprisingly, there is a McDonalds (Free Wi-Fi) but not yet Starbucks! Great local Biere (Beer) ‘Lorraine’. Groceries are relatively inexpensive; A bottle of French wine (3.95 Euro = 6 USD) and Emmental cheese (about 9 USD/pound) and French bread (Less than 1 USD). Enjoyed a Napoleon pastry and Croissant with coffee at a little street cafe. Places must visit: Local Library, Cathedral, and ‘Leader Price’ Grocery Store. Main Language: French! ***My friend had to see a doctor. It cost 30 Euros for a visit. The office was run by only a doctor, no nurse, no assistant. First come first served. See doctor, talk about the issue, get a prescription, pay, and leave!
