My Tent Office in Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, USA

(April 27 – May 3, 2019) When sun heats the trees and soil in the campground in the Grand Canyon, I feel as if I am in a spa scenting Juniper and pine trees. Getting up in the morning is tough; I didn’t want to get out from my down sleeping bag (made for 25f degree sustainable). It was 37f degrees this morning just before 6 am.

The Grand Canyon is for the people of all ages from around the world. It offers hikers the opportunity to visit the canyon vertically and/or horizontally (Rim Trails).

(April 18 – 27, 2019) Arriving at the South Campground in Zion National park, I immediately loved my campsite: good shade under cottonwood trees, huge space, awesome view, and etc. It takes a bit of research and early booking to stay in a National Park Campground. Yet, until actually arriving at a site, I wouldn’t know the whole Yin and Yang of each site.

Las Cruces (about 45 miles from El Paso, Texas), New Mexico, USA

(March 30 to April 6, 2019) A week stay in Las Cruces, New Mexico for me was more than enough. I had to wait until April 7th to check into the campground in Joshua Tree National Park. After driving from Florida to El Paso in Texas, I gained some confidence in myself, my car and my plan. Prior to this I wasn’t sure so I didn’t book any campgrounds in the national parks. At Darryl’s Cattle Ranch, Oxford, Florida, USA

I am sure someday I will lose my interest in traveling. For now, I want to travel as much as I can. I have a lot of time, a little savings, no obligations, and a physical and mental capable body. My goal is to do road/car camping trip for the next six months. My car (aka “Tank”, a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis) carries my food, clothes, tent/sleeping bag, and even some tools. The huge back seat is enough for me to sleep comfortably when necessary. I am self-contained. Car-camping trip is easier than sailing as it is on land not on the ocean.
