2026, Happy New Year!

sv Bad Bunny current route before sunrise, sailing from Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands to Kosrae Island in the Federated States of Micronesia on January 1, 2026.

It is the first day of 2026 at sea sailing in the Western Pacific Ocean where the depth is right now, more than 16,000 feet.

We have been just by ourselves more than a month spending Christmas in Bikini Atoll and New Year’s Day at sea. We have one more day sailing to arrive in the Federated States of Micronesia, a group of Caroline Islands.

It is on my watch looking in the dark sky but with countless bright stars.

Happy New Year 2025!

Sugarcane Fields in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia

The New Year has started! While most cruisers returned home, we chose to stay quiet and enjoy a peaceful holiday season in the Bundaberg Marina.

On New Year’s Day, we had the pleasure of meeting two sailors from Japan. They had sailed directly from Japan and cleared the Australian Border Force (Immigration and Customs) in Bundaberg, Australia. Their nonstop journey covered a 3,300 nautical miles and took them 29 days.

Tomorrow, they plan to sail from Bundaberg to Melbourne, covering another 1,200 nautical miles—a journey that might take around 10 days.

Happy New Year from Las Perlas Islands in Panama

Cave in Isla San Jose, Las Perlas Archipelago, Panama

(January 4, 2021) While sailing in Las Perlas (Pearl Islands) in Panama, we have been out of touch for weeks. We found no cellular phone connection. Most of the time, we were the sole human beings on the islands, total seclusion with only the sound of waves and birds. Watching stars and the moon, we celebrated Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve in a relaxed and very tranquil way. I was very happy to say goodbye to Year 2020 and welcome to year 2021. I silently sent my best wishes to our families and friends.

Started Sailing in Las Perlas Islands in Panama

Sailing and Motoring to Isla Otoque, Panama

(December 21, 2020) Truth to be told for the last couple of months, I got addicted to political news on YouTube Videos. It was easy to do. Spending many hours watching videos made me feel bad. I don’t need to know the tips or cooking recipes suggested by an Artificial Intelligent Search Engine. My head ran in a cycle of happy and unhappy during the COVID Pandemic. As there is no choice, I have been learning “Waiting” for a better tomorrow, are vaccines a solution? Governments will let us know someday? In the meantime,

Year 2020 – Wishing You LOVE and PEACE

Leaving Fort Lauderdale Airport on January 1st, 2020.

(January 1, 2020) New Decade, I started a new chapter in my life today. Fort Lauderdale Airport was quiet on New Year’s Day: one way ticket to Santa Marta via Bogota, Colombia. John’s sailboat (in Santa Marta) has been waiting for me. As soon I get organized, we plan to sail to San Blas, then cross the Panama Canal, weather depending.

I am wishing you LOVE and PEACE. Also, happy MIND and BODY. Wherever I am, I am hoping our friendship grows continuously. Friends and families are my asset.

Winter 2016/2017, Jump for Joy!

(January 15, 2017) Meeting old friends and neighbors! For staying in the Caribbean for last two years, we decided to enjoy winter weather this time. We also have things to take care of on land. Leaving the boat in North Carolina, John purchased a used vehicle. We drove it to Fort Lauderdale with our two cats. Nice to be back in Florida, Sunshine State! Despite of the heavy traffic in South Florida, we are enjoying the comforts and conveniences on land for now.
