Last week, most businesses were closed for four days due to Good Friday and the Easter Monday holiday. This coming Friday is ANZAC Day, which stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. It’s a day of remembrance similar to Veterans Day in other countries. As a result, this week is a three-day work week. Our mechanics and boatyard employees will be available from Tuesday to Thursday.
Our engine project is nearing completion. We are scheduled to lift the boat out of the boatyard and return it to the water on Thursday. I really hope everything goes smoothly. If not, we might have to wait up to a month to reschedule with the Travelift at the boatyard.
Living in the boatyard for seven weeks has felt like a long time. The project was delayed due to various issues with orders, parts, shipping, and fitting modifications. These challenges were stressful for everyone involved, but no one gave up.
P.S. During this time, our Japanese friends successfully completed their race and arrived at their final destination in Osaka after sailing from Melbourne, Australia.
