It is a family run business that specializes in hose assemblies both hydraulic and water, they also do cable assemblies. They have a huge inventory of parts and have been able to solve so many of my problems. If they do not have it, they know where to get it!
The owner and his son both speak quite a bit of English and with our little Spanish communications were possible.
The first assembly they built for us was for the water maker. It involved a pile of fittings, custom cut bushings, a flexible hose, two pressure gauges, sensors, and it all had to fit within a certain area. Their work was fantastic, no leaks, no problems, I could not have been happier. Later we had an issue with a through hull valve. A 1.5” ball valve had frozen in place and the handle snapped off. They did not have a bronze one in stock, but within 10 minutes an all stainless steel one showed up at the shop! Most recently my detachable staysail adjuster needed repair. I dropped by the shop hoping that they could turn me onto someone to fix my problem. One of the employees drove me two blocks over to a HUGE machine shop called “Taller Aerotecnica”. This shop has everything, lathes, mills, etc. They were able to get my adjuster fixed and when I asked how much, the guy working on it for over an hour said “No Charge”!If you are ever in Santa Marta and have issues or need plumbing type things done, then your first stop should always be Correas, Guayas Y Ensambles S.A.S., located at Carrera 11a. No. 11-23. When you arrive, ask for Rainer and say that John on ‘S/V Bad Bunny’ sent you.
